I’ve noticed something strange. Anytime people talk about things they want to buy, like 3D TV’s, iPhones, or the latest and greatest whatever, I find myself uninterested and get the feeling I have nothing to add. Turns out, I’m uninterested in such conversation because I have ZERO desire to buy anything beyond my needs. Yes, ZERO desire to buy stuff. It feels so AWESOME that I can’t even begin to describe. There is no empty void in need of filling. I’m a computer geek for life and I got my first smartphone in April 2011. Not because I wanted one; I was doing important work that required prompt communication responses, regardless of where or what I was doing.
Ok, I’m…

If you are a Web Designer or Developer and are starting work on a project without detailed specifications, you are setting yourself and the client up for unpleasant situations such as missing business requirements, or incurring additional hours of work not covered in a pricing quote.
Typically a specification document is boring and uninteresting. It’s not something you read for pleasure, but is an important document that ensures every stakeholder of the project has the same understanding of the final product. During the project it serves as the central quick reference point for anyone involved and is unsure about something.
So what is a Website specification document?
A Website specification is a detailed document describing what the website will be,…

GoDaddy is one of the most popular domain name and hosted space providers on the Internet. They are hated by plenty and used by a lot. I have been using them since 2005, and, in personal experience they weren’t that bad, except for the time when something went wrong. If something indeed goes out of whack, there is generally no way of acquiring help from them. After hours spent on long-distance calls (yes, they do not have 1-800 number)(Turns out they do, but it’s not advertized 1-866-GO-DADDY) and back-and-fourth by email, it all boils to a simple solution: ‘it is my fault’. Answers range from
“hmm, you will have to look through your code and correct that problem”…

Notice green? I put it there. It was an epic process.
I re-designed the blog since the old grayscale minimalist look began to instil nausea. The original idea was to create something so basic as to not show of any Web design skills. Seriously, the old design was whipped up from scratch in a few hours. This one took longer; also coded from scratch. Custom WordPress theme, I got Illustrator and plain HTML5 files to prove it.
I’m moving away from using boxes in Web design. This open layout concept fascinates me. Clean, simple, and elegant design.
And seriously, Google Font’s FTW!!! Notice the nice typography going on? Yeah, looks sweet. Gone are the days of being restricted to 8…

Here, like this.
It’s my long overdue thoughts on liking stuff around the interwebs; about letting Facebook know you like things. And your friends.
You’ve obviously noticed by now that Facebook modifying the functionality of the infamous like button to behave like the share button. If not, you suck at Facebook. I’m going to use the word like a lot in this post. But I’m not so sure if I like having the like button behave this way. It doesn’t suck, but I’m not clicking ‘like’ as much as I used to. I like stuff
Truth is, I seen this coming. And I didn’t have insider info. Just by browsing the developers documentation, which BTW is excellent, it was evident…

Get this,
In order for my blog to keep nagging me that I haven’t written anything in over a month, I disabled anti-spam on user commenting. This brings in at least 5 comment notification messages into my inbox, and reminds me this space exists on the interwebs. Spam has its uses.
I’m actually supposed to be writing some case study right now about a website that is powered by Drupal or something. But I usually don’t like being told what to write about, so I’m doing this as a warm up. You know, getting in the mood. Now if the opposite sex was always in the ‘mood’, life would be more grand. Yes, sex, humour, and fear… It get’s peoples…
